The Company Earned Recognition in the Most Valuable Corporate Response Category for its Program Rapidly Implemented During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Health Information Management Systems (HiMS) has been named a Bronze winner in the Most Valuable Corporate Response category in The 19th Annual American Business Awards®. HiMS received this honor for its Rapid Response program that strategically positioned clinics to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 while keeping revenue positive. More than 3,800 nominations – a record number – from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.

As health care facilities were expected to transition to a virtual care model nearly overnight, clinics with poor technology solutions struggled to meet the changing demand. Fortunately, HiMS was able to act by quickly integrating telehealth and virtual billing solutions into its HiMS Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution, Axiom and assisting with rapid hardware and software deployment as needed. For its customer COPE Community Services, this included purchasing 50 laptops with VPN access when supply chains were constrained and deploying them in just 72 hours.

“The coronavirus came with an increased need to consult with patients virtually so we quickly realized our customers required a seamless telehealth solution integrated into their EHR,” said Khalid Al-Maskari, CEO of HiMS. “In order to continue operating, health care providers had to continue providing patient care and earn revenue without the concerns of privacy or difficult technology that separate telehealth solutions bring. We’re honored to be recognized for helping our customers through difficult times and congratulate all the winners in this year’s award.”

More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. One of the judges of the HiMS award entry commented, “This is one of those companies we need to thank for their quick response to allow the medical industry to work as seamlessly as possible during the pandemic.”
